Elections, Nominations and Awards Committee
Elections, Nominations and Awards Committee Charge: This committee is responsible for developing and implementing the Organization's various award and recognition programs and for developing a slate of candidates for the Organization's annual elections.
Goals and Objectives:
- Update, as needed, the awards program describing new awards or revisions to criteria for existing awards.
- Solicit at least three candidates for each award and select candidates for all established OFWIM awards and recognitions.
- Ensure delivery of information about OFWIM award programs to all appropriate audiences.
- Coordinate with the Membership & Outreach and Communications Committees to expand audiences and contact networks.
- Coordinate on-site voting at the Annual Meeting for Best Presentation and Best Poster awards.
- Prepare score sheets for both on-site awards.
- Solicit volunteers to judge the presentations and posters.
- Collect and tally the score sheets.
- Announce the Best Poster Award during the Business Meeting.
- Develop a slate of candidates for all OFWIM officer positions that will be open each year.
- Enlist at least two volunteers to run for each opening.
- Provide candidate biography information for inclusion in the summer edition of the OFWIM newsletter.
- Provide candidate information for Web-based voting.
- Receive completed Web-based voting tallies and coordinate on-site voting at the annual meeting. Present results to OFWIM President at the annual meeting.
- Professionally complete the duties of the committee as efficiently as possible by:
- Convening conference calls to conduct committee business;
- Participating in Executive Committee (ExComm) conference calls, as requested, to provide updates about committee activities;
- Preparing an annual written report of committee accomplishments for submission to the ExComm and distribution at the Annual Meeting; and
- Presenting an oral report of accomplishments at the annual Business Meeting.
